work it

We’re still eight months away from Coachella but, in the meantime, local spin studio favourite SPOKEHAÜS partnered with BrainStation to bring us an event to tide us over – SPOKECHELLA.  While raising money for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), riders had the chance to break a sweat during a 45 minute spin class outside on BrainStation’s patio, at the corner of Queen and Spadina.

Despite taking place on, literally, the hottest day of 2016, the vibe of the event could not be beat.  With live DJs Savage & She spinning, riders getting their hair braided at the braid station and free samples of Greenhouse Juice Co. juice blends, the festival atmosphere (with a whole lot of wellness thrown in) was in full swing.  Participants donned flower crowns and hit their bikes ready to dance.  45 minutes later, and after a gorgeous live music performance by Canadian beauty Madeline Merlo for our “ride home” (aka the final song), our cardio sweat sesh had also helped to support the important work of CAMH.  And that’s something that we can always get on board with.

Can we dare to hope for SPOKECHELLA Part 2?  Coachella’s not until April 2017, after all…
